Thirty-one people from the World Affairs Council of Ventura County joined Will Berg on a trip to China. We had such a great time we decided to create a web page so we could write up some of our experiences and show some of the things we saw.

October 21	Leave Los Angeles
October 22	Arrive Beijing: Our hotel was Tianlun Dynasty Hotel, a 5 star hotel. The picture is of the third floor, which begins an enclosed atrium where we had breakfast and drinks when the day was done. There was entertainment every night.
October 22	Hutong tour: the hutong are narrow streets with openings into small courtyards where one to four families live. The picture is of the drummers in the Drum Tower where in the old days they kept time for the citizens. There is also a bell tower, which also chimed time.
October 23	American Embassy: They took our cameras (and the offices weren't all that interesting, anyway) so no pictures. Bill ? gave us a very interesting overview of Chinese economics and how to do business in China.
October 23	Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Pictures of The Forbidden City have been revised and pictures of Tiananmen Square are up.
October 24	Ming Tombs & Sacred Way   New Pictures

October 27	Leave for Guilin and Sheraton Hotel, yet another 5 star hotel
October 28	Li River Cruise along the Li River outside Guilin. Our group took over 1,000 pictures of the trip, and it was far and away our most photographed activity. In addition to the river, the people, the animals and the boats were the subject of many pictures. All new pictures

October 29	Leave for Shanghai and check into Jin Jiang Tower Hotel, another 5 star hotel, and the only one without an atrium. Hard to fit one into a round, 44 story tower.
